Traffic management

Traffic management measures are designed to increase safety for pedestrians and other road users, and to reduce congestion and nuisance for the local community. They include speed limits, traffic calming and pedestrian crossings.

If you feel that there is a traffic-related problem in your local community, you can ask us to investigate. If necessary, we can introduce local traffic management measures to reduce danger, congestion or nuisance.

All requests for traffic management measures must be made in writing to:

An officer from the Joint Transportation Team will investigate your request and decide whether traffic management measures need to be put in place, and which measures are most appropriate. They will write to you with their findings, and give you timescales for when the measures will be put in place.
