Road closure information - 2008

College street car park

Construction on new council offices at Bourne Hill begins later this month, and over the coming weeks various preparation works will begin to enable the construction to start on 29 September. These will include installing temporary footpaths, erecting a perimeter site fence, tree protection and surgery works and establishing on-site accommodation for the contractor.

To provide a contractors' compound, a section of the College Street car park and the College Street link to Bourne Hill will be closed from late August for the duration of the construction which is expected to last 16 months.

Access to the College Street car park will be from Belle Vue Road, it is estimated that about one third of the car park will be closed. The car park currently has an occupancy rate in the region of 25% so this closure should not affect the demand for parking here.

Salisbury District Council is working closely with the contractors to ensure the construction of the new offices goes ahead as smoothly as possible.
