You can appeal against a parking penalty by writing to the council, giving your reasons why you feel the penalty should be cancelled.
If we accept your reasons for challenging or appealing against the penalty charge notice, we will cancel the penalty and notify you in writing.

Your appeal must be in writing.
If you write within 14 days of the date of the penalty, you may still be able to pay the discounted rate (50%) if we reject your appeal. You will have 14 days to pay at the discounted rate, from the date of our letter of rejection. Our letter will also explain how you may further challenge the penalty through the statutory appeals process.
If your appeal is not received within 14 days of issue of the penalty charge notice, the full amount may be payable if your appeal is rejected.
You should include as much relevant information and documentation as possible. Please ensure you supply the relevant ten character Penalty Charge Notice number and your name and address so that we can reply to you.
