How long will it take for my new bus pass to arrive?

Passes are produced within one to ten working days of application.

Will my pass give me totally free travel?

Yes, a totally free scheme is in place.

How far can I travel with my new pass?

As long as you get on the bus in Wiltshire you can travel outside the county. Your return journey needs to end in Wiltshire too.

You cannot use your pass if you change buses outside the county.

My existing pass hasn't run out yet. Will I still be able to use it?

Yes, your existing pass is valid until it runs out and the bus driver should allow you to travel free with your existing pass.

I have always had a free pass as my sight is impaired. How will the new scheme affect me?

You will still get free travel - there is no change to your entitlement. Your pass will be marked "free travel".

When will I receive my nationwide concessionary bus pass?
You will receive your new plastic pass in March 2008.
Why is the format of the pass changing?
From 1 April 2008, you will be issued with a plastic bus pass. These are known as smartcards. The new Concessionary Bus Travel Act (2007) stipulates that all concessionary bus passes need to be in a specific format.
