Yellow pages recycling information

Yellow Pages directories can now be put into your black box for recycling.

This change has come about because the company which takes paper for recycling from Wiltshire can now accept Yellow Pages.

Paper collected through the black box service is sent to Aylesford Newsprint in Kent, which turns the material into premium grade newsprint.

Previously, the inks in Yellow Pages reduced the quality of the paper, but the production process has now changed. This means that Aylesford can now accept the telephone directories.

As well as putting Yellow Pages in to kerbside black boxes, people can also use the paper recycling banks at their nearest household recycling centre.

The move will not affect the Yellow Woods challenge which runs in certain districts and rewards schools for sending in unwanted Yellow Pages - it just gives people in Wiltshire another option for recycling.
