Highbury and Fisherton Manor School - draft concept statement

Wiltshire County Council is seeking to replace Highbury and Fisherton Manor schools with a single new school, providing an opportunity to improve significantly the learning environment for the pupils.

To guide future development, broad principles for development are set out in an adopted Concept Statement, which also deals with the wider area to the east of the school site.

The Statement locates the new school at the northern end of the existing playing fields, with the existing school site developed for housing.

In 2006 the document was the subject of public consultation, which indicated a broad level of support for the principle of redeveloping the school, and provided an opportunity for local people to raise concerns and questions over the redevelopment. These concerns have been taken into account in revisions to the Statement prior to its formal adoption in March 2007.
