Important note about validation checklists

Cabinet resolved to adopt the local validation checklists with effect from 14 April 2008 provided no new issues were raised during the consultation period. This means that from now on, if you do not submit the additional information needed (in the left hand column of the list) where the circumstances in the right hand column of the list apply - your application will not be registered until that information is received. For further information about what these additional documents should contain please see Adobe PDFThe Validation of Planning Applications: Guidance for local planning authorities January 2008 100kb

In addition, please note: if an application that falls within schedule 2 of the The Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations (SI 1999/293), as amended, is submitted to the Local Planning Authority and is not accompanied by an Environmental Statement, the Local Planning Authority may issue a screening opinion that an Environmental Statement will be required and give reasons. This will normally be issued within 3 weeks from the date of receipt unless otherwise agreed.
