Contaminated land studies
When submitting a planning application for development, you may be required to include a contaminated land study. This depends on whether there is a risk of land contamination and is also advisable in some circumstances when demolition is involved.You may find it helpful to refer to our validation checklists and matrices.

When a contaminated land study is required, the Local Planning Authority may consider an application to be invalid or it may be refused on the grounds of inadequate information, if one is not provided.
