The government is introducing a standardised set of national planning application forms, known as 1APP. All applications submitted on or after 6 April 2008 will need to use the 1APP forms.
As part of 1APP, the government has defined national requirements for the information required to be submitted in support of a planning application. These national requirements are to be supplemented by mandatory local requirements, which will be decided on by individual Local Planning Authorities.
The validation checklists linked to each application type outline those requirements and the circumstances in which the information is required.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE CHECKLISTS ARE CURRENTLY ADVISORY.
The National Requirements will become mandatory on 6 April 2008.
The Local Requirements will become mandatory once they have been formally adopted. This will not be before 14 April 2008. Until that date the local requirements are purely advisory.
For further advice (including what the documents referred to in the checklists should contain) please see the DCLG website.
