Planning

Salisbury District Council regulates and guides development in south Wiltshire, balancing the protection of the district's environment and heritage with the needs of residents, businesses and visitors. We approve or refuse planning applications for development, and make sure that planning controls are implemented through enforcement. Forward planning officers develop planning and design policies through work with local communities, and ensure these policies are upheld.

The council's Building control section ensures that buildings comply with Building Regulations and that demolitions and dangerous structures are dealt with safely. We also have conservation officers who are responsible for matters relating to listed buildings and conservation areas and preserving our built heritage.

You can use the online map search to search for planning applications, local plan policies, protected trees and planning constraints affecting a property.
