Studies have shown that saunas offer therapeutic values both for the body and mind. Just 30 minutes a day can burn 300-600 calories, contributing to healthy weight control. Regular use can:

  • increase defence against infection
  • increase cardiovascular strength
  • lower blood pressure
  • improve lung function
  • relieve some skin disorders

When is it available?

The sauna is available at various times throughout the day and evening both weekdays and weekends. As a rough guide the times set out in the Adobe PDFDurrington swimming timetable 1.3mb tend to mirror the times that the sauna is available for use.

How do I book it?

A sauna can be booked either at reception or over the phone (telephone 01980 594594). Please note that prior to allowing you to use the sauna you are required to complete a Health Check Questionnaire. Certain pre-existing medical conditions identified through this process may require us to insist that you consult with your doctor before we can allow you to use the sauna.

What do I wear?

Customers are required to wear a swimming costume at all times. You may wish to take a towel into the sauna with you to lay/sit on.

Do I have to share?

No, although the sauna is not specifically reserved for individuals it can be reserved for exclusive use.

How much will it cost?

The hourly cost and the cost for exclusive use of the sauna are on our Adobe PDFDurrington price list and booking information 234kb leaflet.

Exclusive use of the sauna is £10.60 per hour. All bookings must be paid for in advance.

Where is the sauna?

The sauna is situated on poolside at the shallow end of the pool. It can accommodate up to six people at one time.

To avoid disappointment it is advisable to pre-book. However we will endeavour to accommodate customers at short notice subject to availability and the time required to bring the sauna up to the required operational temperature. Just ask at reception.
