South Wiltshire Summer Gardens Competition

Commercial and residential garden owners in south Wiltshire can enter our Summer Gardens competition, organised by Salisbury District Council as part of Salisbury's entry in the Britain in Bloom Competition.

The overall winner, excluding commercial categories and photographs, will receive the Wilton House Cup and £250 (in cash or vouchers). First, second and third places will be awarded with certificates in all categories and the winner of each category will be presented with a trophy to keep for a year. Best of all, it is completely free to enter.

Leaflets are available from all council offices and Tourist Information Centres within the district. Alternatively, you can submit your entry details over the phone on 01722 434634.

Your entry form must reach us no later than 13 June 2008. All categories (except photographs) will be judged between 20 June and 4 July. The presentation of prizes will be in Salisbury’s Guildhall on the evening of 17 September 2008.

The categories are:

  • Best front garden (all ages)
  • Best front garden (senior citizens)
  • Best back garden (all ages)
  • Best back garden (senior citizens)
  • Best container display
  • Special gardens (for individuals with learning difficulties and caring establishments)
  • Best Bed and Breakfast
  • Best pub or restaurant
  • Best hotel
  • Best set of Photographs
