South Wiltshire Strategic Housing Board

The South Wiltshire Strategic Housing Board has been established to make the strategic housing role central to achieving social, economic and environmental objectives that shape our local communities and create a sense of place. Bringing together representatives from government departments, the statutory, voluntary and private sectors, the board can draw upon a wide range of skills in understanding local housing markets and how local demand may be met. It will provide a forum to access new thinking, skills and different ways of working.

Terms of reference

  • Producing a housing strategy and overseeing implementation.
  • Acting as champions for its delivery.
  • Providing a strategic direction for the development of the housing system in south Wiltshire.
  • Directing the work of any relevant project sub-groups.
  • Promoting new supported housing developments.
  • Ensuring that the Housing Strategy compliments and fits with other relevant plans and policies.
  • Reporting to relevant bodies.
