About this service

Our Sheltered Housing schemes give older people the opportunity to live independently in the community with a level of support agreed with them.

The council has 22 schemes across the district, providing support cover five days a week, 9am-5pm by a mobile Housing Support Officer (HSO).

Housing Support Officers visit daily to deliver support services and welfare checks.

Most schemes have a range of communal facilities including a residents lounge, laundry facilities and guest rooms. A variety of accommodation is available from studio flats to bungalows including flats within secure schemes.

All properties are connected to the CareConnect service, offering 24-hour emergency support.

You will need

  • Completion and assessment of a housing application form, or
  • To be an existing Salisbury District Council tenant.

Payment

A rent and service charge is payable on a weekly basis. These vary from scheme to scheme.
