The scheme operates from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. There is no emergency service but if the job is urgent they will do all they can to visit as soon as possible.
Normally the job should take no longer than 2 hours to complete.
Normally there is a small hourly charge of £10 per hour, but in some cases work can be undertaken at no cost. To qualify for a free service you should be over 60, in receipt of pension credit, council tax benefit, rent rebate or be physically disabled. You should be either an owner-occupier or privately renting.
You will not be asked for any money at the time that the work is carried out but will be invoiced directly from the Age Concern, Salisbury District office.
Phone Age Concern on 01722 322515 or visit their offices at 21 Brown Street, Salisbury.
