Disabled Facilities Grants

The grant is means tested and provided by Salisbury District Council to assist occupiers to continue living in their own home, either independently or with help. The need for adaptation is assessed by Social Services with work usually commissioned with the help of Anchor Staying Put. Typical adaptations include level access showers, access ramps and stairlifts.

Decent Homes Repairs Assistance

Provides means-tested financial assistance to help vulnerable and low income householders to carry out essential repairs, and allow their homes to meet the decent homes standard. Assistance of up to £12,000 is available in addition, to help to release the equity in your home.

Energy Efficiency Assistance

A range of financial assistance to help householders improve the energy efficiency of their home. These include:

  • Over 60s cash back scheme for insulation
  • Warm Front top up
  • Cavity wall fill assistance for flats
  • Houses of multiple occupation energy efficiency allowance
Age Concern Handyperson Service

A small repair service to the elderly and vulnerable. The service is managed and run by Age Concern and is sponsored by Salisbury District Council.
