CareConnect: Lifeline service

Lifeline is a special alarm unit which is installed in your home and linked to the CareConnect Control Centre based in central Salisbury. Each Dispersed Alarm unit has its own specially programmed pendant which you carry everywhere with you at home and in the garden.

Lifeline is linked to your normal telephone, but if you have an emergency, by simply pressing the red alarm button on the Lifeline unit or special pendant, you are in immediate contact with our Control Centre, which is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a week. A sensitive microphone and loudspeaker are built into the Dispersed Alarm unit, so wherever you are in your home, you will be able to speak to us and our trained operators will be able to speak to you.

The Dispersed Alarm unit can be situated anywhere in your home, provided that a modern telephone plug-in socket and electric power socket are available on the same wall within 3 metres.

The special features of the Dispersed Alarm unit bring additional advantages. For example, you can answer all your incoming telephone calls simply by pressing your pendant, so there is no rush to get to the phone before the caller hangs up.

Because your own telephone is linked to our Dispersed Alarm alarm unit, you do not have the worry of having to learn something new. You simply use your own telephone in exactly the same way.

How does the Dispersed Alarm work?

Calling for help is quick and easy. If you have a fall, are suddenly taken ill, suspect an intruder or face any other emergency situation and require assistance, all you need to do is press either the red illuminated alarm button or the on the Dispersed Alarm unit, or your pendant.

You can wear the pendant around your neck on a special pendant cord, clip it to your clothing for easy access or wear it on your wrist. By activating one of these butons, the Dispersed Alarm unit will emit a series of loud bleeping sounds. These are reassurance tones which tell you that your Dispersed Alarm unit is automatically dialling the Control Centre for you to summon help.

Within less than a minute of triggering an alarm call, the Dispersed Alarm central computer tells us who you are and where you live, together with details of friends, relatives or neighbours that we may need to contact in the event of an emergency.

If there is no response from your emergency contacts, the operators are trained to respond in an emergency, and will call the emergency services on your behalf if necessary.
