CareConnect: Equipment

CareConnect can help you to obtain the following types of equipment for independent living.

Dispersed alarm unit

The Dispersed Alarm unit is simply installed in your home using an active telephone line and an electricity supply. One press of the button on your Careconnect alarm or pendant and you're through to one of our professionally trained operators. The operator can talk to you through the unit like an intercom, to assess the situation and give you relevant help.

IntelliLink

IntelliLink is a personal alarm that provides peace of mind and reassurance to anybody that may be vulnerable. This sophisticated alarm unit allows hands-free speech, user-recordable voice messages, multiple emergency phone numbers, single button call answering and answering of phone calls using the pendant. It has a range of up to 150 metres and is easy to install and programme. There is also an option for a fall-trigger. See the Initial Community Care website for further IntelliLink product information.

Telecare

Telecare is a range of non-intrusive smart sensors that offer a comprehensive way of managing the risks to a person's health and home environment. Sensors include:

Smoke detector

The radio smoke detector raises an instant alarm at the 24 hour response centre if it detects smoke.

Fall detector

Automatically detects a serious fall and raises an alert at the 24 hour response centre.

Flood detector

Provides the response centre with an early warning of potential flood situations in the home.

Carbon monoxide detector

Warns the response centre of dangerous CO levels within a property.

Bogus caller button

Fitted near a door, this discreet button can be used to call for assistance at the 24 hour response centre, when a stranger requests entry into a home.

Wandering client

Provides an early warning, by alerting the response centre, that the user has left their home and not returned within a predetermined time parameter. Ideal for people with early onset dementia and their carers.

Amie+/Gem+ radio triggers

Personal radio triggers that allow an alarm call to be raised within a radius of up to 50 metres from the Lifeline unit.

Pressure mat

Monitoring of inactivity or intruders, dependent on individual needs.

Bed/chair occupancy sensor (including eneuresis monitor)

Provides an early warning by alerting the 24 hour response centre that the user has left their bed/chair and not returned within a predetermined time period. The sensor can also monitor for eneuresis (urinary incontinence).

Pull cord

Strategically placed around the home, the pull cord can be used to raise a call at the 24 hour response centre.
