Water butts

Water butts are a great way to save water and help the environment. You can recycle rainwater to water your garden during long hot summers - a particular help if your area is affected by a hosepipe ban.

Water butts can be bought from most DIY stores and garden centres. The council does not supply water butts.

If you are a Wessex Water customer you can get a water butt kit (220 litre water butt, water butt stand, diverter kit and and a childproof lock) on free trial for 60 days. After the trial period you can buy the water butt kit for £29.95 plus £5 postage and packaging. For details call the order hotline on 0870 844 3015.
