Moving between council houses

About this service

Register of council tenants wishing to transfer to accommodation within the Salisbury District Council catchment area.

If you are a Housing Association tenant you are also able to go on to the transfer register.

Applications are prioritised by what points you are given when we receive your completed transfer form. When a vacant property is available to rent we decide who to offer the property to by looking at who has applied for that area, how many points they have and if the property is suitable for them. An explanation is given in the information pamphlet that you get with your application form.

You can also register for the Homeswap scheme at www.homeswapper.co.uk.

You will need

  • A current tenancy for a council property within the Salisbury district.
  • To show you have been a tenant for a year or more.

Unless there are exceptional circumstances you would not be offered a move if you are in arrears with your rent.
