Housing register

About this service

Apply to join the housing register if you want to be considered for a secure council tenancy or to get the council's help to find a housing association tenancy within Salisbury District Council's catchment area.

To join, you will need to complete an application form and return it to the Housing department. Use the contact details at the bottom of this page to request a form.

Applications are prioritised according to the council's housing allocation policy. An explanation is given in the information pamphlet that you get with your application form.

We cannot say how long someone will wait for housing because many factors affect the answer. We will give you as much information as we can and will do our best to keep the time as short as possible.

Please note that some people, mainly those who can meet their own housing needs or who have broken conditions of another tenancy, may not be offered housing by the council.

Before any offer is made you will be contacted for an assessment, to see if your circumstances have change and and check whether your needs assessment is correct.

Always advise the council of any changes in your circumstances. You can do this using the contact details below.

A separate process deals with homelessness.
