Manual calculation figures

With effect from 1 April 2008

The figures in each of these pages are used in the calculation of benefits. Please contact us if you have any queries about how the calculation is done in your case.

• The figures are set by the Department of Works and Pensions.
• In the calculation of Housing Benefit the level of rent used in the calculation is set by the Rent Officer (for Private Tenants).
• Council tenants' rents are fixed by the local authority every April.
• The figures used in the Meal and Fuel Deduction tables are deducted where applicable from the rent used in the calculation.

• Applicable amounts - personal allowances
• Premiums - amounts (per week) added to the personal allowance
• Non-dependant deductions - housing benefits
• Non-dependant deductions - council tax benefit
• Meal deductions for housing benefit cases (private lettings)
• Fuel charge deductions housing benefit cases
