About this service
The service replaces the old Exceptional Circumstance Payments and Exceptional Hardship Payments. This payment is for situations where there is still financial hardship after Housing or Council Tax benefit has been awarded.
You will need
To apply you must already be on Housing or Council Tax benefit and the award is at the discretion of a panel of non benefit assesment officers. There is no appeal system against the decision.
