Grass verge and layby cleaning

All major road lay-bys in the District are cleansed on a regular schedule as follows:-

  • Fortnightly A30 (East from Salisbury) A36 A303 A354
  • Monthly A27, A30 (West bound from Salisbury) A338, A350, A354, A360, A3094

Lay-by cleansing includes removal of all litter and discarded items from adjacent verges, bus shelters, buildings, grass and planted areas, ditches and hedges. The removal of all detritus and weeds and other unwanted vegetation from paved areas and other hard surfaces. The area to be cleansed includes the access roads to lay-bys, and verges on the highway within 50 meters of the entry and exit. Routine Grass Verge Cleansing of Major Roads

  • Quarterly A27 A30 (westbound from Salisbury) A338 A350 A354 and A360

Grass verge cleansing includes the removal of all litter and other discarded items from verges, bus shelters, public buildings, grass or planted areas, hedges ditches and embankments.
