Best Value

The principle underlying Best Value is that of continuous improvement of all council services and being able to demonstrate value for money. This is achieved by continuous measurement of performance against targets through the use of Performance Indicators, and by periodic reviews of the way services are provided. In addition, the council as a whole is inspected once every four years by an external team from the Audit Commission, in what is known as a Comprehensive Performance Assessment.
