Interim corporate plan 2008/2009 and BVPP

In recent years Salisbury District Council has published an annual corporate plan, setting out the council’s intentions, directions and focus for the next three years.

Following the election in 2007 the new administration began to identify a number of priorities and projects that officers have been taking forward over the past few months. These priorities have been further developed and were approved by Cabinet at the end of 2007. At the same time, the council has been working with district and county colleagues in preparing for the new unitary authority. These two areas of activity – delivering the fifteen corporate priorities and contributing to the local government reorganisation – provide the main focus for the organisation over the next ten months. The Corporate and Transition Plan 2008-09 sets out key actions and deliverables in relation to the fifteen corporate priorities and identifies broad mechanisms and actions for managing the period up to April 2009.

We simultaneously publish our Best Value Performance Plan (BVPP) for 2008-09, which contains detailed performance statistics and all the Best Value Performance Indicators that the government requires us to publish.

Please note the additional paragraph to the 2008/09 BVPP:

Workforce matters

The council is required to include a statement on contracts which certifies that all contracts awarded during the year 2007-08 which involved a transfer of staff comply, where applicable, with the requirements of the Code of Practice on Workforce Matters. The council awarded one contract involving the transfer of staff during the year 2007-08, and the council certifies that it was handled in accordance with the policy.
