Budget and council tax survey 2008

Money

Have your say on Salisbury District Council's budget for 2008 and the level of council tax you pay for local services.

Since the elections in May the council has consulted on the Bourne Hill office project, the refuse collection service, planning policies, the Salisbury vision, climate change, a parish council for Salisbury and on local priorities for action.

In the light of what local people have told us, a draft budget for 2008/09 has been drawn up. It proposes increased funding for:

  • affordable local housing
  • a weekly wheelie bin service
  • extended kerbside recycling
  • a regeneration programme for Salisbury
  • refurbishment of leisure facilities
  • improved maintenance of streets and open spaces
  • further investment in public transport
  • more support for those on low incomes
  • climate change and green issues

Have we got our priorities right?

Let us know by completing our short survey.

Where does the money go?
