Stonehenge management plan

This plan has been formulated in response to the international obligation that designation by UNESCO places on the nation to protect and conserve the site and its monuments. The Management Plan provides a framework for action within which future decisions about the management of the whole site can be made. It has been approved by the Government and was adopted by Salisbury District Council as supplementary planning guidance to the adopted Local Plan on January 28 2000. The objectives of the Management Plan are therefore a material consideration that must be given due weight when considering development proposals in or near the World Heritage Site.
