Office project construction working group

The Construction Working Group met regularly during the Enabling Works to provide everybody with the opportunity to raise any construction-related concerns there may have been about that phase of the Bourne Hill council office development, as outlined in the terms of reference below, and to give the contractors and Salisbury District Council an opportunity to address these concerns in a constructive forum.

The group will start again when the main contract commences.

Membership of the group:

  • officer(s) employed by Salisbury District Council
  • district ward councillors
  • a representative from the contractors employed by or on behalf of Salisbury District Council
  • a representative from St Edmunds Community Association
  • a representative from the Arts Centre
  • a representative drawn from local residents
  • county councillors (when there are items on the agenda related to traffic)
  • the Resources Portfolio Holder

Terms of reference of the group:

  • to monitor any traffic on Wyndham Terrace
  • to monitor parking in Zone A of the residents parking scheme
  • to monitor construction traffic
  • to monitor noise and disturbance caused by the development works

The group shall monitor the above activities during construction and for a period of 12 months following completion of construction works.

The group shall make recommendations for the minimisation of any change in traffic in Wyndham Terrace, considered material by the local planning authority, about construction traffic, noise and disturbance. 

The chair of the group will disestablish the Construction Working Group once any outstanding issues have been resolved or in any event no later than eighteen months after completion of the development.
