What is the review about?

In July 2004 the Council decided to make changes to the management of its sheltered service, this included the removal of live-in wardens and the introduction of 3 geographic housing support teams. When the first scheme managers were removed from their live-in accommodation in early 2005 there was a public outcry and the Council commissioned this independent review of the changes.

The review was led by Councillor Mrs Jose Green (Independent) and examined all of the paper work associated with the changes, conducted interviews with those involved, made visits to four sheltered schemes and consulted all tenants of sheltered accommodation.

*The results of the review were published on 18th November 2005 and will be considered by the Council on 12 December (see minutes of this meeting).
