Councillor Chris Devine has carried out a major review into the future of proposed cycling routes that would link Alderbury and Wilton to Salisbury and beyond. The review group is expected to publish its findings later this year.
Salisbury District Council's Environment and Transport Overview Scrutiny Panel has set up special group led by Councillor Devine to investigate why the Alderbury and Wilton Cycle routes – earmarked in the Salisbury Transport Plan and part of Sustrans cycle route 24– have not yet been realised. “However, the proposed cycle routes of Alderbury to Salisbury and Wilton to Salisbury have not yet happened.
“I would strongly encourage anyone who has views on these routes, whatever their views are, to attend the meeting on 5th July to voice their opinions.”
"We believe it is important to re-examine if the cycle routes are still needed and wanted.
