Climate Change Review - Final report 555kb
Climate change has moved up the national policy agenda in recent years, with the publication of the Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change in October 2006, and the government’s Draft Climate Change Bill in March 2007 clearly signalling its presence in the political mainstream. Politicians and policy-makers alike are also beginning to recognise and emphasise the key role to be played by local authorities in meeting the challenges posed by climate change.
The Climate Change Review Group is looking at what Salisbury District Council can do to manage the local impact of climate change. This involves exploring ways the council can both adapt to, and mitigate climate change, with the view to recommending an overarching policy framework on climate change for the district council.
Consultation was carried out as part of the review using the People's Voice and Voice and Choice panels.
