Brunel Scrutiny Review Final Report 434kb
Following the submission of the latest planning application for the scheme, the panel has resumed its original review of the proposed Harnham Relief Road/Brunel Link, which was suspended two years ago. The review is examining the construction of a Harnham Relief Road/Brunel Link scheme as a means of improving access to the Churchfields Industrial Estate and of removing heavy vehicles from Salisbury city centre.
The review group will analyse the council's support for the scheme, in terms of the stated objectives of the scheme and of its supporters. The group will balance this against the suggested alternatives, and the views of those people and organisations who oppose the scheme.
The review group will invite evidence from organisations and members of the public to identify the key issues, including the impact on traffic, trade and commerce, and the environmental impact of the proposed scheme.
The group will then present the report of their findings and recommendations to Salisbury District Council's Cabinet.
July-31st August 2005: The review group will invite submissions from the public.
September/October 2005: The review group will hold fact-finding sessions for all those people and organisations that the group would like to question further on their written submissions.
November 2005: The first draft of the review group's report will be published.
December 2005: The final report will be submitted to Salisbury District Council's Cabinet.
