SMARTIDEAS: Your application, step by step

Step 1:
Complete the SMARTIDEAS form and submit to Democratic Services.
Step 2:
You will receive acknowledgement within 5 working days of receipt.
Step 3:
Following consultation with the appropriate Service Unit, your suggestion will be assessed by the Smartideas Panel (it normally meets 6 times during the year - so there may be a slight delay).
Step 4:
Successful suggestions will be rewarded with a Gift Voucher together with a certificate signed by the Chair of the Council.
Step 5:
Every service nomination that is approved will be rewarded by an additional salary payment (unfortunately due to Inland Revenue rules this will be a taxable payment) together with a commendation signed by the Chair of the Council.
Step 6:
Every successful submission will receive a letter explaining the Panel's decision; there will be no right of appeal.
Step 7:
Once approved, the ideas will be implemented and publicised in the Council's information Bulletin and the Citizen Newspaper.
