Together they provide all the information required when creating communication, marketing and promotional material on behalf of Salisbury District Council.

It is important that all pieces of communication destined for an external audience are produced in conjunction with Corporate Communications. The team's responsibilities include being 'guardians' of the council's logo and branding rules.

Visual identity guide

The Visual identity guide has been commissioned as part of a corporate identity review. It must be followed by all Salisbury District Council staff, and any designers and printers used by the council.

The guide has taken existing guidelines for use of the logo and 'evolved' them into a comprehensive, clear design framework. The new guide enables us to create communication that it is instantly recognisable as having come from the council.

Design, Print and Approval form

The Design, Print and Approval form is used as part of the design proofing process.

When the designer has the first proof ready they should send it to the originator along with a Design, proof and print approval form. Any changes the originator then has will be marked on this form and then sent onto the Communications Officer to add any corporate identity changes.

The Communications Officer will then send this form back to the designer with all changes recorded. When a second proof is ready, the process is repeated.

Please refer to the Publications and printed material guide for further information on the design proofing process.

Publications and printed material guide

This guide explains the council's internal approval process for the design and print of any item of external communication. It contains all the information our colleagues in the council require to work with you to produce their promotional material.
