What's different about Swipe Cards?

You will no longer receive instalment payment slips, the card replaces the payment slip.

When paying over the counter at any Post Office. Simply hand over the card with your payment. The card will be "swiped" directly into the computer system and you will receive a printed receipt. It is important to keep this receipt as this is your proof of payment.

What happens if I forget my card when making payment?

You will be unable to make your payment at the Post Office without the card.

When will I receive my card?

All current Council Tax payers should have their cards, any new occupiers will receive their cards approximately 14 days after receiving their Council Tax Bill. If you believe you should have a card and have not received one please contact the Council Tax office as soon as possible on the number below.

What if I lose or damage my card?

Please contact the office on the number below as soon as possible, we will arrange for a new card to be sent.

Will I receive a new card each year?

No, the cards have a life of at least 5 years. New cards will be issued if the old one is lost/stolen/damaged. If you move address within the Salisbury District area the card is still valid.
