External funding

The External Funding Officer works with Salisbury District Council and the voluntary and community sector to provide advice and support on raising funds for local projects and programmes.

The External Funding Officer provides professional and technical support to enable the council to maximise opportunities from a wide range of potential funding sources external to local government. These funding opportunities help us deliver our corporate objectives.

Sign up for email updates

We produce regular Funding Alert! bulletins that are emailed to a wide range of local organisations from pre-schools to luncheon clubs and from drama groups to sports associations, giving them a list of funders to whom they might apply for support. Sign up for Funding Alert! emails.

Working in partnership

The External Funding Officer also works in partnership with other advisory organisations in order to provide a comprehensive service to voluntary and community groups within the boundaries of Salisbury District Council. This is achieved mainly through the South Wiltshire Funding Advice Service, which is run in partnership with Salisbury District Council, Wiltshire Charities Information Bureau and Wessex Community Action.

South Wiltshire Funding Advice Service

The South Wiltshire Funding Advice Service is a free advice and information service, that aims to support voluntary and community groups by providing information and advice regarding raising funds, including:

  • sources of funding,
  • fundraising plans,
  • funding applications, and
  • developing financial and other resources
