SWSA Press release: New coordination executive will improve delivery of key projects

The South Wiltshire Strategic Alliance is looking for a member of the public to be the independent Chair of its new Coordination Executive.

The new Coordination Executive will oversee the way other partnerships in the district deliver on their priorities and ensure that activities across different partnerships and areas are joined up.

The Coordination Executive will be made up of Councillors representing different areas, a representative responsible for the Local Development Framework and the Chairs of the Alliance thematic partnerships (such as the Strategic Housing Board, Community Safety Executive).

The Alliance is looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working in a medium/large organisation at senior level.
  • Has performance management experience.
  • Has good chairing skills.
  • No links with any political group.

It is expected that the Coordination Executive will meet six times a year and members will be required to spend time reading and preparing for those meetings.

The Chair of the Alliance Change Management Group, Colonel Bill Farrington of HQ Land Command, said: “This is a rare opportunity to make a difference. I would urge anyone interested in improving the delivery of local services to the residents of south Wiltshire to accept the challenge of what promises to be a rewarding role.”

Anyone interested in being the independent chair of the Coordination Executive can find out more about this new role by contacting Policy Director Pam Fox on 01722 434213. The deadline for applications is 6 August 2007.
