Street charity collection permits
About this service
There are regulations governing where and charity or other collections are permitted in a public place.
In the City:
Each charity is permitted to benefit from two collections during the year in the City.
Two charities may collect on any one day, at two of three locations, i.e., Old George Mall, The Maltings and the City Centre excluding the two shopping malls.
During December, prior to Christmas Day, three charities may collect on Tuesday, Thursday (late night shopping) and Saturday.
Elsewhere in the District:
One charity may collect on any one day and there is no restriction as to how many occasions a year a charity may collect.
The regulations which will be attached to each Street Collection Permit can be obtained from Environmental Services.
