About this service

All lotteries which do not constitute gaming are illegal. The exceptions to this general rule are:

  • Small lotteries incidental to exempt entertainment
  • Private lotteries
  • Local lotteries ie lotteries promoted by a Local Authority
  • Small society lotteries
