Health and safety

Salisbury District Council is an enforcement authority, enforcing the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and associated regulations.

This means the council helps enforce health and safety legislation in most commercial workplaces including offices, shops, hotels, warehouses and places of entertainment. This now includes smoke-free legislation.

The council also carries out initiatives to promote good practice in health and safety such as sunbed safety and young worker safety.
