Churchfields industrial estate is the largest employment site in South Wiltshire.

There are 165 companies currently operating from the industrial estate. Churchfields is a mixed-use site, with a wide variety of business types.

Churchfields is less than 1km from Salisbury city centre – making it convenient for employees. The location of the estate is popular with businesses and demand for space is high.

Major projects

Over the last five years, the council and its partners have identified a number of issues which need to be addressed for the future sustainability of the site:

  • parking and congestion
  • access
  • environmental impact
  • business diversity

A Salisbury Vision will be developed in partnership with local people and organisations to look at key sites, such as Churchfields, which can make significant contributions to the economy and quality of life in the area.

Churchfields Business Action Group

Churchfields Business Action Group is a partnership of Churchfields businesses, Salisbury District Council, South Wiltshire Economic Partnership (SWEP) and other organisations.

The group is a forum for businesses to discuss issues affecting Churchfields and to suggest and lobby for improvements. The group has successfully lobbied for a number of initiatives, including:

  • Business Watch: an initiative to combat crime on Churchfields
  • Travel to Work Survey
  • Travel Plan advice
  • Improved signage
  • Yellow lines around dangerous junctions
  • Footpath improvements

The group also supports the Brunel Link/Harnham Relief Road project, and is a key consultee on these plans.

Churchfields Business Action Group is managed by Salisbury District Council's economic development team, and is open to all businesses on the industrial estate. The current chairman of Churchfields Business Action Group is Neil Philpot of Signs in Motion Ltd.
